Surely it doesn't
make sense to rent an RV with gas costs so high?
Here's an
example of the cost for a motorhome rental compared to a "drive and stay"
holiday to Prince Edward Island, departing from Brighton,
Ontario. For this example, we
have made the following assumptions (actual costs may vary):
- Approx 1,600 kms each
way plus 500 kms extra travel, a total of 3,700 Kms
- Trip duration: two
weeks
- Motorhome gas
consumption: 24 litres per 100 kms
- MiniVan gas
consumption (or similar car): 11 litres per 100 kms
- RV rented from
Brighton RV Rentals: 1000 kms free per week
- 2 adults, 2
children

Other Considerations -
why an RV is a better choice
- Known quality of
accomodation in RV (no grungy motels)
- Known quality of
cooking; healthier meals and able to accomodate dietary
restrictions
- No packing and
unpacking every day - no risk of lost items!
- Consistent "home" is
less stressful for children
- If needed, free
overnight parking at WalMart or Flying J locations
- Opportunity to
explore countryside en route to destination
- No stress of looking
for motels, restaurants, coffee shops - and bathrooms - everyday
Comfort and convenience of a
MotorHome
.PRICELESS!All of the above numbers are
estimates only and Brighton RV Rentals will accept no responsibility for any
actual or other variations. The above calculations do not include any motor home rental charges
or any Minivan capital/leasing costs We suggest you do your own
calculations and see how it works out ... but of course, you can't put a value
on the stress you avoid by staying in an RV. |
